Vice President Faisal Naseem has discussed the administration's developmental plans for Addu City and pertinent issues in the community. The discussions took place during a meeting with the Addu City Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC).
At the meeting held at the Secretariat of the Addu City Council in Hithadhoo, the members noted the administration had been behind in initiating the highest number of developmental projects in the city and described the projects as some of the most significant ongoing projects in the atolls. Highlighting the road construction project, the council members noted that it would see the development of all the main roads in the city. Other topics discussed at the meeting included budget constraints and upgrading healthcare services.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Naseem shared the latest details of the administration's developmental plans for the city, highlighting, in particular, the development of the education and healthcare sectors. He also spoke about the ongoing work to improve healthcare services at the Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH). He also assured the council members of the administration's commitment to seeking amicable solutions to the community's pertinent issues.
Before the meeting, Vice President Naseem visited Hithadhoo School, met with the management and staff, and inquired about the situation. Briefing the Vice President, the faculty noted space constraints as the only difficulty currently facing the school, which would be addressed with the completion of the ongoing project to build 12 new classrooms. Hithadhoo School has a population of over 1,000 and caters to students from the foundation stage to the tenth grade.
