Important to raise children who can solve problems: Vice President

Vice President Faisal Naseem has urged the individuals of the country to provide education and upbringing to their children with the aim of solving the problems in society. He made the remarks while speaking at a function to mark the completion and handover of new classrooms at Fuvahmulah School built by Fenaka Corporation Limited.

Speaking at the function held at the school, Vice President Naseem said that there will be no benefit from the facilities that are being built if they are not used properly. He said the administration's biggest policy is to build an educated generation and the government and state-owned companies are providing assistance to facilitate the necessary resources. As such, he said that two principals from Fuvahmulah are among the 18 principals currently undergoing a principal training programme.

During the function, two classrooms were handed over to the Ministry of Education by Fenaka to address the space constraints faced by the school. Managing Director of Fenaka Ahmed Saeed Mohamed handed over the classrooms to Minister of Education Aishath Ali. A memorial plaque was also presented to Fenaka on behalf of the school.

Vice President Naseem is currently on an official visit to Fuvahmulah City where he attended the function held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Gnaviyani Atoll Education Centre. He attended a sports festival held as part of the celebrations, unveiled a monument commemorating the occasion, and inaugurated the Senior Students Association of the institution. He also visited the site of the coastal protection project in Fuvahmulah and inquired about the progress.
