BCC partners with JETRO to market local products in Japan

Authentic Maldives run under Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has collaborated with Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) to promote Maldivian products to the international market under the One Village-One Product programme.

Authentic Maldives is a store run by BCC to provide a market for Maldivian products. Local manufacturers who have not been able to market their products before have been now given the opportunity to market their products. Authentic Maldives already has four stores in the Maldives and aims to introduce stores to foreign markets.

One Village-One Product is a programme to introduce businesses from other countries to Japanese markets. Under the programme, JETRO will facilitate the opportunity to sell products at outlets at Japanese airports. As such, local products are now being sold at Narita International Airport and Kansai International Airport in Japan. BCC said products from Authentic Maldives will be marketed at sales events organised by JETRO at these two airports in Japan.

BCC is a government-owned company that promotes and supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)in the country. The company is providing free consultancy and assistance to those who want to start a business.
