Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives has selected beneficiaries for Allied Education Fund and Allied Community.
These are funding programmes introduced under the company's community social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Premium for Good. The Allied Education Fund is an addition to the company's efforts to strengthen the education system and the Allied Community Fund is a funding program that empowers people living in the provinces to make community-beneficial ideas a reality in six areas. Applications for both programmes were opened in August.
Speaking at a press conference, Marketing Manager Aishath Sudha said that the company has given priority to select projects that will benefit society. She said that each of these schools will receive a grant of USD2,000. She said that the fund will be used to develop school libraries as well as the development of students and teachers, adding that the company's Community Fund will support projects in the fields of health, environmental protection, women's and children's rights, as well as education and history. She also said that each of these organisations will be provided with USD3,250 under the Community Fund to implement the projects.
Meanwhile, General Manager Ibrahim Firushan said the opportunity to apply for the funds will be opened next year. He said that the company will always work hard to bring about environmentally friendly changes and build a good education system.
