Flydubai says 60% of upcoming flights to Addu booked

Managing Director of Inner Maldives Holidays Private Limited Mohamed Firaq has revealed that 60% of Flydubai flights to Addu City have already been booked.

The lack of direct international flights to Gan International Airport (GIA) is one of the reasons why tourism in Addu has not developed so far. However, the challenge is being resolved with the launch of Flydubai flights to the southernmost city.

Speaking to PSM News, Firaq said Flydubai will start daily additional flights to Addu on February 4, 2023, and connect the city with 250 destinations. He said that the flights will be operated from Dubai International Airport to GIA.

In addition, Firaq said that the residents of Huvadhoo Atoll and Addu are being informed about the facilities of these trips. He also said that information on flight schedules, prices, and business opportunities will be given in Vilingili on January 11 and in Maamendhoo on January 12.

The national airline, Maldivian, will also have daily additional flights from Gan in Addu to Kooddoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll to supplement Flydubai’s daily flights from Dubai to Gan.
