Ghiyasuddin International School has launched a scheduled bus service for students in Hulhumale’.

Speaking to PSM News, Head of Human Resources Ahmed Naeem Umar noted that many students enrolled at Ghiyasuddin International School are living in Hulhumale’. He said that most of these students travel to school by motorcycle and that travelling by bus would be safer.

Additionally, Naeem said that the bus is operated by a private contractor but school staff will be present inside the vehicles. He said that school staff will be present at the first stop and will leave after the last student stepped off the bus. He also said that teachers will be inside the bus and will escort the students to their classrooms after they arrive at the school. He added that the teachers will also leave on the bus with the students after the school session is over.

Amu Plus Construction and Transport Service is using two buses with a 31-passenger capacity to provide the service for 31 students. A bus fee has been determined after discussions with the company, school, and parents. One bus will operate in the morning and two buses will operate in the afternoon. The buses will stop at various locations in Hulhumale’ Phase I and II. Parents have been requested to escort any students who couldn't make it to the bus stop in time to a bus stop of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) which is nearest to the road leading to the bridge.
