Asphalt laying begins on Gadhdhoo roads

Road Development Corporation (RDC) has begun asphalt laying works in Gadhdhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, as part of the road development project.

The road development project in Gadhdhoo was contracted to RDC in 2020. The project is worth USD5 million.

RDC is redeveloping six main roads in Gadhdhoo under the road development project of the island. Although, initially it was decided to lay asphalt in 6.082km of Gadhdhoo roads, it was revised to lay asphalt in 6.485km of roads.

The project aims to resolve issues related to flooding and potholes on the roads of Gadhdhoo. With an area of ​​50.2h, Gadhdhoo is the second most populous island in the atoll. The island has a population of over 3,000.
