Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed it has completed and handed over a harbour every month during the past four years of the government.
Speaking on programme aired on PSM News regarding harbour development, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adam Azim said that one of the biggest objectives of MTCC is to solve the problems and issues faced by the residents in the islands. He said that a harbour has been developed and handed over every month for the past four years.
Additionally, Azim also mentioned that there are many projects ready to commence in the future. He also said that there are projects that need to be prepared as soon as the environmental impact assessment report has been completed.
MTCC stated that the development of a modern harbour is a major request of the public. The expansion of the harbours of the fishing islands in the Maldives is also linked to the economy of the country. Therefore, the development of harbours has been given special priority in recent years. The government has completed the development of harbours in 46 islands during the four years of this government.
