President says it will be difficult to win other elections without presidency

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed securing the presidential election is crucial to winning other upcoming elections. He made the remarks while addressing the campaign rally held for the presidential primary of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in Fuvahmulah City.

Speaking at the gathering, President Solih said the question faced by members of MDP is whether to go forward with reforms, development, awareness, and other aspects or go backward. He mentioned that the brave way is to move forward at a fast pace to ensure and enhance the health sector, education sector, and other essential services.

Moreover, President Solih said MDP can fully complete the development needed across the country by securing another term in office. He requested MDP members to think carefully and choose a way forward on how MDP can win the election. He also expressed it will be difficult to ensure any upcoming election without winning the presidential election.

Speaking about the development vision for Fuvahmulah, President Solih said the previous governments had launched initiatives in the city but the current administration has to repeat the same projects as some were implemented without any planning. He assured to bring the change the people of Fuvahmulah envision.
