President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed confidence that many projects initiated by his administration will be completed before the end of his first term in office. He made the remarks while addressing the campaign rally held for the presidential primary of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in Thoddoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll.
Speaking at the campaign gathering, President Solih said all essential rights entrusted by the Constitution of the Maldives to the people will be ensured in all islands by the end of the term. He said the target of the government is now focused on completing its objectives. He ensured no island in north or south, atoll or location will be discriminated by his administration.
Noting water and sewerage service was ensured in only a small number of islands when the current administration took office, President Solih stated water and sewerage projects are being conducted in 144 islands as of now. He said every such project will benefit the residents of the island and the economy as well. He mentioned most ongoing projects will be concluded by the middle of the year.
The administration has pledged establishing water and sewerage projects in all inhabited islands of the Maldives.
