Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that the Juvenile Justice Unit in Hoarafushi, Haa Alifu Atoll, will be completed by April.
Speaking to PSM News, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) Adam Azim said construction of the unit is almost complete and the current work involves roofing. He added that the building will include rooms for patients and office space.
The Juvenile Justice Unit is being developed as a halfway house to provide rehabilitation and treatment for juveniles apprehended over different criminal activities in Hoarafushi. The facility is being developed on a 10,000sqft plot of land in Hoarafushi. MTCC stated the halfway house in Hoarafushi will be the first of its kind to be developed.
