Rasmaadhoo Island Council has praised the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for initiating a high number of projects in the island. The council members made the remark during a meeting with President Solih held at the President’s Office.
At the meeting, the council members expressed confidence in the administration and its ability to deliver its developmental agenda. They compared the developmental progress of the island over the past four years to that of past administrations and applauded the administration for the high number of projects initiated under its leadership.
The council members also shared with President Solih the needs and concerns of the island's community. Some topics discussed at the meeting included housing, road construction, space and budget constraints for the council, healthcare, installing a ramp at the harbour, coastal protection in the swimming area, and the need for a football pitch. The Women’s Development Committee (WDC) also shared their concerns over financial difficulties.
Speaking at the meeting, President Solih agreed to work closely with the council and WDC to identify ways to address and remedy their grievances. He added that the administration strives to establish essential services and carry out important development projects to boost island economies and increase their income.
