Vice President Faisal Naseem has revealed all the services in Kudagiri Picnic Island will provide satisfaction to people of all ages. He made the remark while speaking at the ceremony held to officially inaugurate Kudagiri. He closely worked with government-owned agencies in the development of the picnic island.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Naseem said people of the Maldives cannot live without the peacefulness of beautiful beaches and the tranquility of shade from the trees. He said the development of Kudagiri has eased the disappointment of repurposing Kuda Bandos. He assured many changes will be brought to the island in the coming days after the public feedback.
The master plan of Kudagiri was developed by Housing Development Corporation (HDC). Speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director of HDC Ahmed Athif said the majority of the development was completed in accordance with the master plan, adding the island was developed to cater to people of all ages.
A total of eight hectares of land was reclaimed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for the development of the picnic island. The utility services of the island were developed jointly by Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC), Fenaka Corporation Limited, and State Electric Company Limited (STELCO). Meanwhile, the mosque in Kudagiri was developed by the Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MNACI) with assistance from private businesses.
