Ameenee Magu redevelopment project to finish by June

Road Development Corporation Limited (RDC) has revealed that the Ameenee Magu redevelopment project is expected to be completed by June.

The modernisation of Ameenee Magu was originally scheduled to be completed by September, but at the current pace, the project is expected to be completed earlier. RDC began redeveloping Ameenee Magu, one of the two main roads in the city, in August 2022. RDC is currently working on the fourth segment of the road. The asphalt layer for the first three segments, which covers a length of 350m, was laid by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) as part of the efforts to expedite the opening of the completed areas to the public.

Minister of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Akram Kamaluddin inaugurated the laying of asphalt on Ameenee Magu. He said the redevelopment of the road is continuing at all times of the day. He also said the laying of asphalt up to Imaduddin School would be completed before Ramadan.

MTCC was awarded the contract for laying asphalt on Ameenee Magu. The state-owned company will lay asphalt in an area of 2,511sqm. The entire project is being carried out in 13 segments.
