Maldives and UAE discuss further developing cooperation

The Maldives and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have discussed further developing cooperation between the two countries. The discussions took place in Dubai between Vice President Faisal Naseem and Crown Prince of the Emirate of Fujairah Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi.

During the meeting, Vice President Naseem praised the UAE leadership for its foresight and for successfully hosting the World Government Summit for a decade, which helped shape the world's future. He said that the close brotherly relations between the Maldives and the UAE are rooted in Islamic, cultural, and historical links and shared values. He also noted that the UAE has been an invaluable development partner of the Maldives and has provided generous support and assistance to the Maldives over the years.

Furthermore, Vice President Naseem and Crown Prince Hamad also discussed areas of mutual interest for further cooperation, including development cooperation, trade and investment, tourism, increasing people-to-people connectivity, and international cooperation.
