Ministry of Economic Development has announced that it will soon temporarily suspend services of the expatriate management system, Xpat.
The economic ministry stated that all services provided from the Xpat system, except for work permit fee request and payment and work permit passport add request, will be unavailable from February 26 to March 12. The ministry advised employers and users to plan, submit, and obtain approval for any required permits prior to this service interruption.
Employers and users are advised to make payment for any required payments that are in a pending payment state, as these may be cancelled during the system maintenance. The interruption in services is due to scheduled maintenance of the Xpat system, to implement necessary changes for improving and updating the quota-related services within the Xpat system. An updated user guide for quota services will be available prior to the resumption of services.
The changes to be made to the Xpat system include separating individual and sole proprietorship data, which result in all existing relations within the system of the individual will be carried forward to the sole proprietorship profile.
Additionally, all commercial permits related services will be blocked for Individual profiles on March 1. If sole proprietorship has not yet been registered or has expired and the individual has commercial permits, the ministry advised them to complete the due processes before March 1, to avoid any service block/suspension.
