MWSC introduces Lab Equipment Calibration service

Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has introduced Lab Equipment Calibration as a new service to further develop and expand the services.

The service was launched by the Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan. The ceremony was also attended by the Managing Director Hassan Shah, Board Directors and management and employees of the state-owned company.

Lab Equipment Calibration is a test to determine if there are any issues with the equipment used to perform water analysis. The purpose of these tests is to ensure the accuracy of the reports obtained through water testing equipment. Similarly, tests are conducted to ensure that the materials used in water tests comply with international standards. The lab calibration service of MWSC includes a wide range of laboratory equipment to check various parameters such as temperature, weight, volume, pH, conductivity, and turbidity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan said the health safety of the water provided to the people must be ensured adding this can be achieved by conducting tests to determine the water is safe.

Meanwhile, Managing Director Shah said the newly introduced laboratory equipment calibration service is an important service to ensure the safety of water and sewerage services provided by utility companies in different parts of the country. He said the service will ensure the equipment is maintained in accordance with international mandatory standards and increase confidence in the results obtained.

The newly introduced service to the Maldives will be provided by MWSC via 100% local employees with training and experience, said MWSC. The service is also available to customers upon request via MWSC staff while user-friendly packaging will be introduced for customers who wish to purchase equipment and parameters.
