Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has warned that it will take action against the tenants of the Hiyaa flats that violate regulations.
HDC published the regulations for the safety of a large number of residents in the Hiyaa flats area in Hulhumale’ Phase II. The regulations state that any work that damages the building is prohibited.
HDC stated that repeated inspections have revealed numerous prohibited works being conducted at the flats. They include establishing carpentry workshops, and stores, as well as placing large amounts of waste outside apartments, and restructuring the balcony to place plants.
HDC warned that it will take action against tenants that violate the regulations, in order to safeguard other residents in the area. It also appealed to the public for their support in maintaining Hulhumale’ as a secure and livable community.
