Ministry of Islamic Affairs has signed two agreements to assist Maldivian Hajj pilgrims.
The Islamic ministry signed the agreements with Saudi-based Al Adilla company and Shuyooful Bayt company. The agreements are on assisting Maldivian pilgrims during their visits to Medina, Mecca, Mina, and Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabia. Discussions were also held to increase the services provided to Maldivians during their Hajj pilgrimage.
The government of Saudi Arabia allocates a quota of 1,000 Hajj pilgrims for the Maldives each year. Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir said the discussions are being made to increase the quota.
