Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has handed over the keys to recipients of the Malas Residence which was completed under the Hiyaa project in Hulhumale' Phase II. The ceremony for the handover of the keys held at Malas Residence was attended by Minister of the President's Office Ahmed Sameer and Managing Director of MWSC Hassan Shah.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Sameer said the government has always thought of bringing compassion and happiness to the public with housing projects. He, therefore, said the government is working to solve the housing problems faced by the citizens in different parts of the country.
Meanwhile, Managing Director Shah said the lack of financial sufficiency of individuals, limited availability of housing loans or finances, and access to housing construction loans especially through banks, is a difficulty faced by the public. He, however, said the Malas Residence will provide housing opportunities for the company's employees and provide them with affordable accommodation.
Malas Residence consists of two 15-storey towers with a total of 384 apartments. However, only one tower has been completed so far. The tower consists of 60 three-bedroom apartments, 40 two-bedroom apartments, and 92 one-bedroom apartments. The Malas Residence has a children's play area, a store, and a parking zone on both sides of the building.
