New buildings of Hirilandhoo School to be in use by January 2024

Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali has stated that the buildings to be constructed at Hirilandhoo School will be completed and in use by January 2024. She made these remarks while speaking at the ceremony held to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the school in Hirilandhoo, Thaa Atoll.

Speaking at the function, Minister Aishath said that efforts are underway to address the space constraints in Hirilandhoo School. As such, she said two three-storey buildings and a multipurpose hall are already under construction. She said the buildings will have 11 classrooms, a library, a staff room, and an office section as well as toilets. She also said the buildings will be completed by January 2024.

Hirilandhoo School has 37 teachers in charge of 246 students. The school offers classes from preschool to grade 10.

The anniversary of Hirilandhoo School was celebrated with the presentation of plaques to three long-serving members of the school. The plaques were presented to the recipients by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
