Islamic University of the Maldives (IUM) has commenced the Islamic Finance Exhibition of the Maldives (IFEM 2023). The exhibition was inaugurated by the Managing Director of Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) Mufaddal Idris Khumri.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chancellor of IUM Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa said that the exhibition will showcase the latest technologies that can be used to improve Islamic finance and make its utilisation more convenient for future generations. He also expressed hope that the exhibition will encourage the development of human resources for the sector.
During the exhibition, a forum was held on the products and career opportunities in Islamic finance. The moderator of the forum was Senior Manager of Islamic Finance at Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Hassan Miras. The panel included Vice Chancellor Zakariyya, Associate Dean of INCEIF University Professor Dr. Aishath Muneeza, Chief Finance Officer of MIB Ali Wasif, and Islamic Banker and Shariah Advisor Azmeen Rasheed.
Additionally, visitors can participate in quizzes and stand a chance to win various prizes as well as participate in a lucky draw and win an Umrah trip sponsored by Yalamlam Hajj and Umrah Group or a Kindle tablet by Ell Mobile.
