Dhigurah Council offers land plots for residential use

Dhigurah Island Council has opened applications for 77 state-issued land plots for residential use.

Dhigurah has a population of 700 residents and is reliant on its local tourism businesses. The council had last offered 25 land plots for residential 10 years ago.

Dhigurah Island Council is offering land plots of 2,000sqft located in the southern part of the island and will prioritise applicants who are most in need of housing. The council will accept applications until May 9 from individuals who are over 18 years of age and do not currently own any registered land plots. Applicants are also required to release any registered state-issued or private land plots or flats they currently own. Applications will be accepted if it has been two years since the individual last released or sold a state-issued flat or a state-issued or private land plot registered under their name.

Dhigurah Island Council will provide the land plots to 77 applicants who received the most points during the evaluation stage. If more individuals receive the same number of points, the land plots will be issued through a lucky draw. If a married couple is qualified, a land plot will be issued to the person with the most points.
