MTCC to upgrade Thinadhoo harbour

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to upgrade the harbour in Thinadhoo, Vaavu Atoll. The agreement was signed by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MTCC Shahid Hussain Moosa and Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed, the Permanent Secretary of the Planning Ministry.

MTCC is tasked with upgrading the Thinadhoo harbour within 360 days at a cost of USD2.8 million. The scope of the project includes dredging operations of 12,800cbm, construction of a 71m breakwater, a 6m submerged breakwater, and a 482m revetment.

The project also includes the construction of a 354m scoring apron and a 249m quay wall, and the installation of two navigation lights and 59 mooring rings. MTCC will also be building a 90sqm ramp and a 1,847m pavement, and installing 18 streetlights.
