Ministry of Finance is seeking contractors to develop cold storage facilities in three islands.
The finance ministry announced that it is seeking contractors to develop cold storage and ancillary facilities in Kandu Oiy Giri in Kaafu Atoll, Mulah in Meemu Atoll and Kooddoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll. The ministry stated that the government has received financing from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) toward the development of new cold storage facilities and expansion of existing cold storage facilities.
The projects include increasing the cold storage capacity by 4,000 tonnes and improving the power capacity in Kooddoo, developing a 200-tonne cold storage facility with a blast freezing facility in Kandu Oiy Giri, and developing a 500-tonne cold storage facility in Mulah.
The finance ministry will proceed with the bidding process under the Limited International Bidding policy and the SDF Guideline for Procurement of Goods and Contracting for the Execution of Works. Interested parties are required to register for the bidding process by June 8.
