IASL to procure five aircraft for fleet renewal

Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) has begun the procurement of five aircraft to renew its fleet.

IASL began the renewal of its fleet last year. As such, three new aircraft have been brought into service so far. IASL, which operates the national airline, Maldivian, announced the procurement of five more ATR42-600 aircraft. The five aircraft will be used for domestic flights.

IASL is making efforts to procure aircraft and complete the fleet renewal before the end of next year. A total of eight aircraft will be required for the renewal. In addition, IASL is also in the process of acquiring two Airbus aircraft for international flights. The aircraft will be operated to additional destinations. IASL currently has more than 23 aircraft in its fleet, including an Airbus aircraft used for international flights, ATR and Dash model aircraft for domestic flights, and seaplanes.
