Ministry of Health has contracted two companies to expand the health centres in Dhiyamigili in Thaa Atoll and Gemanafushi in Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
The health ministry contracted Engineering Solution Private Limited for the construction of the extension building and portico in the health centre in Dhiyamigili within 154 days at a cost of USD285,343. The ministry contracted Veeru Group Private Limited to construct a surrounding wall in the health centre in Gemanafushi within 120 days at a cost of USD84,306. The companies are tasked with expanding the area for medical storage facilities and constructing an administrative section, a laundry section, a public unit and ambulance parking garages.
The government is making efforts to solve the space constraint problem faced by health centres and hospitals in different parts of the country.
