Ministry of Islamic Affairs has contracted three companies to facilitate Hajj pilgrimages.
The ministry contracted Al Haramain Hajj and Umrah Company Maldives Private Limited, Sisilfaru Hajj, Umrah Group Private Limited, and Al Manasik Al Safa Private Limited to facilitate Hajj pilgrimages at a price of USD5,000 per person.
The government of Saudi Arabia has allocated a quota of 1,000 slots for Maldivian Hajj pilgrims but the ministry has stated that discussions are being made to increase the quota. The Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited is tasked with facilitating the travel of 600 pilgrims while the other half of the quota is to be distributed to the three companies.
As such, each company will receive 90 slots to make it easy and convenient to facilitate bus travel and accommodations for the pilgrims. The companies are not allowed to exceed the quota or the approved price for their services.
