Speaking to PSM News, Senior Medical Officer of HPA Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq warned that the rise in COVID-19 cases could lead to the spread of more variants and that authorities are taking samples to determine which variants are present in the Maldives.
HPA has advised the public to refrain from gathering outside and to wear masks. The agency also urged individuals to self-isolate at home if they show signs of illness. It further stated that cases of other forms of illnesses such as dengue are also on the rise.
