Engineering. architecture online courses will not be conducted: MQA

The Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) stated that the online teaching of engineering and architecture programmes will not be accepted.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, the regulatory body in the field, has decided to teach higher education programmes in engineering and architecture through an e-learning delivery modality. However, MQA informed that the architecture and engineering programmes consist of technical and physical activities that cannot be taught online. Therefore, MQA stated that no module or part of a module or any level of programme can be taught under the e-learning delivery modality

Furthermore, MQA also stated that engineering and architecture are among the eight fields that have so far been declared not to be taught in e-learning delivery modality unless specifically permitted by the relevant councils and relevant regulatory bodies in the e-learning guidelines of MQA. Additional fields that MQA has previously decided not to offer online include medicine and dentistry, nursing, Quran courses, technical and vocational courses, and teaching.
