Gov’t praises MNU for contributing to national development

Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan has praised the Maldives National University (MNU) for contributing to national development. He made the remark while speaking as the chief guest at the MNU graduation ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Hassan said the contribution of the MNU to the development of human resources in the fields of accounting, engineering, hospitality, and tourism directly leads to national development. He praised the faculty of MNU for focusing on developed skilled workers in these fields as they play a large role in the nation’s economy and are currently dominated by foreign workers.

Additionally, Minister Hassan emphasised the government's high regard for graduates, recognising their crucial role in national development. He stressed the significance of work ethics and encouraged graduates to uphold personal and ethical values, becoming valuable members of the workforce and society.

Furthermore, Minister Hassan advised graduates to demonstrate respect towards their colleagues and avoid prioritising wealth accumulation above all else. He emphasised the importance of managing their lifestyle according to their income and placing value on family and community contributions.
