The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the road development project in Dhuvaafaru, Raa Atoll.
The government contracted the project to MTCC on September 2020. MTCC conducted the Dhuvaafaru road development project in two phases. In this regard, 12 roads in Dhuvaafaru were developed under the first phase, which was completed in 2021. The second phase of the project was also completed in March this year.
The second phase of the project included the construction of 19,797.44sqm of driving area, 6,003.85sqm of walking area, a service line, installation of street lights, road signs, and a drainage system. Almost all the roads on the island have been developed and laid with asphalt. The second phase of the project has been carried out at a cost of USD1.3 million.
