Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that children are spending too much time on the internet, playing games and watching television and that priority should be instead given to building the skills that will shape them into responsible adults. He shared his concerns regarding children in his remarks on a special radio programme on Children's Day.
Speaking in the programme, Vice President Naseem said times have changed dramatically compared to the past and children are being affected. He said children spend a lot of time playing games, on the internet and watching television. As such, he said that children are likely to face tough consequences in the future if they continue spending more time on such resources at a young age and do not learn the skills they need for life. He also advised children to learn a few skills and apply them in everyday life.
In response to questions raised by children during the programme, Vice President Naseem said that he prioritises the needs of children. He also said that he enjoys meeting children every day and working to resolve issues related to them.
