Urbanco has stated that it is making efforts to install dividers and pedestrian traffic lights on major roads in Hulhumale' to reduce accidents.
Urbanco stated that it is identifying changes that can be made to make the roads safer and reduce accidents in Hulhumale'. As such, Urbanco decided to install dividers on major roads to reduce dangerous accidents and collisions. Road sign boards for dividers will also be installed to inform drivers. In addition, Urbanco is also decided to install traffic lights for pedestrians to improve safety. The traffic lights are currently being installed in two areas of Hulhumale' and testing is underway. The lights will be installed in eight busy areas in Hulhumale'.
Unbanco is working with the Maldives Police Service (MPS) to develop a comprehensive plan to improve road safety and provide convenience and safety for vehicles, commuters, and pedestrians. Urbanco is also in discussions to change the traffic flow on the roads. There have been recent accidents in Hulhumale', where some individuals died, while others were seriously injured. According to statistics, 111 accidents occurred in Hulhumale' last month of Ramadan alone.
