The Maldives and Yunnan Province of China have signed agreements on sports and education. The agreements were signed during the official visit of the Governor of Yunan Province Wang Yubo to the Maldives.
The agreements that were signed include the Tri-partite Agreement Among Foreign Affairs of Yunnan Province, Sports Administration of Yunnan Province, and the Table Tennis Association of the Maldives. The agreement was signed by the President of the Table Tennis Association of Maldives Ali Rasheed. Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the Maldives National University (MNU) Dr. Mohamed Shareef signed the Agreement for the Cooperation in the Joint Construction of Overseas Learning Centre between the Maldives National University and the Yunnan Open University.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, Governor Wang, Ambassador of China to the Maldives Wang Lixin, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel were in attendance during the signing ceremony.
