Maldives signs double tax avoidance agreement with Malaysia

The Maldives has signed a double tax avoidance agreement with Malaysia. The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Finance of Malaysia Ahmed Maslan and Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer during his visit to Malaysia.

The agreement aims to enhance taxpayer certainty and avoid double taxation of income from residents of both countries. The agreement will also strengthen the economic relations between the Maldives and Malaysia by contributing towards the facilitation of cross-border investments.

The Maldives has also signed double tax avoidance agreements with Bangladesh and India and is working to sign such agreements with other countries.
