Fifth Tourism Minister Plan will not affect current policies: Gov’t

Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has affirmed that the newly launched Fifth Tourism Master Plan will maintain existing tourism-related policies.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Minister Mausoom highlighted the consecutive World's Leading Destination Award wins and the successful track records of the Maldives in tourism development spanning five decades. He emphasised the importance of aligning future growth with the One Resort One Island concept.

Furthermore, Minister Mausoom stated that the Fifth Master Plan will serve as a roadmap, drawing from lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said sustainable tourism development remains a key focus contributing to the global reputation of the Maldives.

Additionally, Minister Mausoom noted that the master plan will uphold the One Island One Resort concept fostering the creation of new tourism offerings and expansion into diverse global markets. The master plan aims to ensure increased benefits for Maldivians within the tourism sector.
