The National Awards Committee has announced that nominations for the President's National Award for Special Achievement will be closed on June 1.
Interested parties have until June 1, 1500hrs, to submit their nomination forms through the designated portal on the President's Office website. The Special Awards Committee urged individuals to carefully adhere to the requirements outlined in the government gazette, which specify that nominations for the awards must be accompanied by the respective form for each award category.
As such, applicants who hold qualification certificates between Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) levels 7 and 9 and have obtained first place in their respective programmes need to submit supporting documentation or certificates from the relevant educational institutions confirming their first-place achievement. This year's awards encompass four distinct categories, with the first category specifically focused on recognising individuals who have achieved notable accomplishments in higher education and training. The second category is designed to honour individuals who have performed exceptionally or attained the highest position in an international competition or exhibition.
Additionally, the third category focuses explicitly on individuals who have showcased innovation and entrepreneurship by developing practical solutions or presenting outstanding resolutions through their academic research on significant national challenges. The final category would recognise and honour exceptionally talented young individuals who have demonstrated remarkable creativity and innovation in their respective fields of expertise, positively impacting the progress and development of the nation.
