President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that preparations are being made to launch the National Fertility Care Programme. He made the statement at the ceremony held to open the Tree Top Hospital Fertility Centre.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Solih said that the fertility centre will provide brand new and important treatment in the Maldives, which will enable citizens to seek treatment without having to go abroad and leave their jobs and families. He assured that the government will give its full support to Treetop Hospital in its efforts to expand the service.
Regarding the National Fertility Care Programme, President Solih highlighted the importance of conducting the programme based on international standards and recruiting professionals prior to the launch. He said the government is currently working to spread public awareness of reproductive health and that the programme is expected to benefit the economy by reducing the expenditure on seeking treatment abroad.
During the ceremony, President Solih opened the Tree Top Hospital Fertility Centre, the first-of-its-kind facility in the Maldives. The centre provides accessible infertility treatments, offering a range of services such as intra-uterine insemination (IUI), In vitro fertilisation (IVF), and intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
