Bank of Maldives (BML) shareholders have approved a total dividend payout of USD13.9 million with USD2.59 per share at the Annual General Meeting held at the Islamic Centre.
Speaking at the meeting, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of BML Karl Stumke stated that the shareholders approved a total dividend of USD2.59 per share including the interim dividend of USD1.29 per share paid out earlier. He extended appreciation to the BML team of committed staff across the country for their hard work last year. He also thanked all the customers for their loyalty and support over the past 40 years. The national bank stated that the total dividend payout for the year 2022 is USD13.9 million for 2022, including previously paid interim dividends. The government is the biggest shareholder and stands to benefit with USD8.1 million as dividends and over USD32.4 million as tax for the year 2022.
