PCB appoints members to two SOEs

The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has appointed members to two state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

PCB appointed Shazura Shakir to the Board of Directors of Addu International Airport Company Limited (AIA). In addition, PCB also appointed Lamya Ibrahim to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Business Centre Corporation (BCC) for a second term.

Shazura holds a master’s degree in business administration. She also held the position of Human Resources (HR) Representative of Mauritius Commercial Bank in the Maldives and Manager Administration of Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL). She is currently the Deputy Project Manager at FJS Consulting Private Limited.

Lamya held various positions in the Ministry of Economic Development. She served as a board member of the Hazana Maldives and Urbanco. She also holds a bachelor's degree in business administration.

PCB stated that new members were appointed in order to share the findings of the financial and governance reviews conducted, to correct them, and to address the current issues in the management of the companies.
