Vice President calls for unity in pursuit of national progress

Vice President Faisal Naseem has called for unity and solidarity in pursuing national progress, stating that it can be achieved if individuals set aside their differences and work together, despite the country's limited resources. He made the statement while speaking at a function held at Crossroads Maldives to celebrate the 26th anniversary of State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).

Speaking at the function, Vice President Naseem said STELCO had been an important utility service provider since its establishment. He added that the state-owned company had transformed the energy services industry and was expanding electricity and sewerage services on 30 islands in the central region.

Additionally, Vice President Naseem emphasised the importance of professionalism, genuine friendships, and mutual support in the workplace, stating that these traits are essential for delivering essential services to the public. He added that learning and sharing knowledge with coworkers is vital for personal and organisational growth.

Furthermore, Vice President Naseem stated that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his administration place a high value on sustainable development and highlighted the initiatives to improve power plants on the islands as an example of the commitment. He noted the many development efforts underway across the country as part of the administration's policy of decentralised administration.

At the function, Vice President presented the Outstanding Service Award to the Deputy Managing Director of STELCO Mohamed Latheef. The company also presented Long Service Awards to its longest-serving employees.
