Gov't urges students to learn chores regardless of education

Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan has said that students should be able to do the various household chores on their own without relying on anyone else, regardless of pursuing higher education. He made the remarks while speaking at the Open Day held at Maldives Polytechnic Institute to provide information on various opportunities available for students.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Hassan said the opportunity to teach skills that can be adopted in various fields of life has expanded and become much easier. He, therefore, advised students to take advantage of the opportunity. He also said that students should be able to do the various household chores on their own without relying on anyone else, regardless of pursuing higher education.

Furthermore, Minister Hassan said that one of the main objectives of the Open Day held at Polytechnic Institute was to provide information on courses, get a chance to get guidance from expert lecturers, and experience facilities. Students were given information about the various opportunities available after graduation. As such, 92 students from various schools in the Greater Male' Region participated in the occasion. The courses provided by the institute are also completely free of charge.
