The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC ) is conducting a joint marketing campaign with Kompas Tours to promote the Maldives in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region.
MMPRC said the campaign will be held from April to July. The campaign will utilise the native language to promote the Maldives and strengthen the destination brand in the CIS market by combining digital and traditional marketing activities.
Kompas Tours is a tour operator with over 17 years of experience in the CIS region. With a team of over 200 experienced managers, Kompas is a multidisciplinary tour operator implementing its own charter programmes in the most popular destinations, organising tours around the world and inside Kazakhstan. Kompas Tours is one of the leading tour operators in the region and the campaign is expected to achieve a wide-scale reach.
The major components of this campaign include marketing the sights, sounds, and experiences of the Maldives through digital, social media, and outdoor advertising activities. The content will feature the products, experiences, and segments of the Maldives, with a highlight on honeymoons and family vacations.
The CIS region is a significant region for the tourism industry of the Maldives, notably with Russia holding its position as one of the top source markets to the Maldives in 2023 thus far. MMPRC held a total of 16 various marketing activities for the CIS market in 2022 and recorded 238,951 tourist arrivals at the end of last year.
MMPRC took part in Pure Luxury 2023, and Moscow Dive Show earlier this year. MMPRC has planned several marketing activities in this region to market and further promote the destination.
