Vice President Faisal Naseem has attended the annual reception for heads of state, Islamic dignitaries, government bodies, and heads of delegations and pilgrim affairs offices who performed Hajj this year. He is in Saudi Arabia to perform the pilgrimage as the Head of the Maldives Hajj Mission.

Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman welcomed the guests at the Royal Court of Mina Palace in Makkah. Speaking at the reception, he noted Saudi Arabia has taken all efforts and harnessed all capabilities to provide comfort and reassurance to pilgrims. He also prayed to perpetuate safety and security for the global Islamic community.

The Maldives received 1,000 quotas for Hajj this year. Two-thirds of the quota has been given to the Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited (MHCL). The rest of the quota has been divided among three companies.
