The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment has announced that the community centre in Ihavavandhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll, is nearing completion, and preparations for its opening are currently underway.
Minister of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof said the community centre is being developed to meet modern standards. The facility will soon be available to facilitate a wide range of sports and activities on the island. The Minister also highlighted that similar centres are being constructed in 31 other islands, with five already completed.
The development of community centres in various parts of the country is a crucial initiative aimed at empowering society and fostering island development. These centres play a significant role in providing opportunities for youth to engage in both indoor and outdoor sports activities, including participation in major tournaments. Moreover, the community centres offer residents the chance to partake in various recreational activities, further enhancing their well-being and quality of life.
