Students’ certificates to be delivered via post office

Ministry of Education and the Maldives Post Limited have signed an agreement to ensure the secure delivery of certificates to students.

Under the agreement, the Maldives Post will be responsible for delivering certificates to examination centers, aiming to address the challenges associated with providing students their annual international and national secondary and higher secondary examination certificates. The education ministry has identified several issues, including delays in certificate delivery, instances of damaged certificates, and cases of misplaced certificates during the delivery process.

The education ministry signed the agreement with the Maldives Post to ensure the secure delivery of certificates for students who have participated in examinations conducted by the Department of Public Examinations to examination centers located in the atolls. At the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education Mohamed Ihsan highlighted the major challenge of delivering certificates to atoll centers due to the lack of reliable persons available in Male' on the day of issuance. He further emphasised that the current practice of relying on individuals to deliver certificates often results in damage or loss during transit, and at times, there is a lack of available travelers to deliver the certificates within the required time frame.

Also at the ceremony, Managing Director Post Adam Mohamed said that the Maldives Post will ensure the secure deliver of certificates. Under the agreement, the Department of Public Examinations will send certificates to examination centres within 20 days through the post office, ensuring the quick delivery of certificates to students.
