Minister of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure, Mohamed Aslam, emphasized the government's commitment to inclusive housing projects during a ceremony held at One Central Park Residential Building in Hulhumale'. As part of the event, Minister Aslam personally handed over the keys to the owners of the 120 housing units developed under the project.
Highlighting the significance of the project, Minister Aslam mentioned that it was initiated in 2010, with the foundation stone laid, and after a suspension of seven years due to various reasons, it was successfully completed under the current administration.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Aslam stressed the importance of recognizing the diverse socioeconomic backgrounds of the people and acknowledged the varying living conditions and prosperity levels within society. He emphasized that the Maldives, as a middle-income country, encompasses individuals from different class categories. In line with this, the government is dedicated to implementing housing projects that ensure inclusivity and do not exclude any individuals.
Minister Aslam also highlighted the ongoing efforts in the Greater Male' Region, including land allocation and the construction of 4,000 flats under contracts with two Indian companies. These projects aim to provide a significant solution to the housing challenges faced by the residents of Male' City.
The strategically located One Central Park Residential Building, situated near the Central Park in Hulhumale', follows a mixed development plan and offers affordable housing options for citizens across various income brackets. Comprising three-bedroom apartments, each priced at USD 143,700, the project was jointly developed by Assotech Reality Private Limited and Rasheed Carpentry Construction (RCC).
