One-Gov will revolutionise government services: President

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced the launch of the One-Gov system, which marks the beginning of a digital government in the Maldives. During the launch event, President Solih underscored that One-Gov will revolutionize government services by providing a modern digital platform that is easily accessible and interconnected with all ministries, government agencies, and local councils.

The President highlighted the significance of developing digital services in an island nation like the Maldives and noted that there are hundreds of services available on the One-Gov platform. He stated that a digital government is essential for meeting people's expectations and achieving economic growth and sustainable development goals. The administration's strategic action plan includes a digital action plan aimed at eliminating the inconvenience faced by the public in filling out forms and traveling long distances to access government services.

President Solih mentioned that individuals can now call 1500 to access any government service through the One-Gov system, eliminating the need to call specific numbers for different agencies. He described 1500 as the main government call center and highlighted that One-Gov is also accessible through LiveChat and social media platforms as part of the government's efforts to provide easier access to services. He further noted that a digital government operates 24 hours a day and can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

To ensure accessibility, One-Gov support centers have been established in Male' City, Fuvahmulah City, and Addu City. President Solih stated that more support centers will be established in additional regions to bring services closer to the people, especially those who are unfamiliar with technology. The government's digital strategy aims to reduce corruption and costs. The President reassured citizens that their personal information will be secure and encouraged everyone to obtain an eFaas account, which is the Maldives' national digital identity system.
