The Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) revealed it has cleared a total of 4,400 containers of cargo in June.
The latest statistics published by MPL show that an average of 147 containers were cleared daily from the Male’ Commercial Harbor throughout the month of June, which is a 14% decrease compared to an average of 170 containers cleared in May. MPL cleared a total of 4,400 containers including 2,680 20ft containers and 1,780 40ft containers.
In June, Male' Commercial Harbor recorded the arrival of 16 container vessels and 17 other cargo vessels. The statistics reveal that various perishable items were commonly cleared during this period, including bananas, watermelon, pumpkin, pineapple, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, and eggs. Specifically, the cleared quantities included 8,938 tonnes of bananas, 20,554 tonnes of watermelon, 2,409 tonnes of pumpkin, 12,457 tonnes of tomatoes, and 54,681 cases of eggs.
